The Co's & Q's
The Four Co's
The four co's is shorthand for the Great Co-mmission and for the three love co-mmands given to us by Jesus.
|
The Great Commission
Jesus commanded us to make disciples of all nations. You can read this commission in Matthew 28. |
|
The Command to Love God
Jesus taught us that the greatest commandment is to love God - above all. |
|
The Command to Love our Neighbour
We cannot separate these first two commands. As Jesus said, how can you say you love God, who you cannot see, if you cannot love your neighbour who you can see. |
|
The Command to Love one another
Speaking to his followers (disciples), close to the end of his life, Jesus gave them a new commandment: "As I have loved you, so you should love one another". Here he is speaking about his love for them while with them on earth (rather than his self-giving on the cross): "As I have loved you". This involved spending his time with his disciples. As Christians we are to spend time together, learning from Jesus. |
The Three Q's
Since Bishop Martyn became our diocesan bishop we have, as a diocese, been focussing the long standing Shaped by God initiative on three questions, in short these are:
|
Deeper Discipleship
How are we going deeper in our discipleship? |
|
New Disciples
How are we making new disciples? |
|
Loving Service
How are we demonstrating loving service to the world? |
