The Garden Room Events 2026
Make a Jam Jar Bouquet - and one to give away!
Saturday 11 July 9:30-11.00am at Holy Trinity Ashby, Kilwardby Street, LE65 2FR
Love flowers? Know someone who would love to receive some flowers?
Come and join us as we make up some of our signature jam jar bouquets with cut flowers from our growing spaces.
We’d love to invite you to make a jar to take home and enjoy - and another to give away.
If you’ve got someone in mind, you can take your second jar away to pass on yourself - or leave it with us, to give away to someone in our local community.
We’ll be running a pop-up cafe at the back of church, serving free tea and coffee and homemade cake. Come along to meet new people, or bring your family or friends. Accompanied children very welcome.
Please note: There will be no Saturday morning event in August.

WANTED: Empty Glass Jars
If you’re planning to come along to one of our free ‘make a jam jar bouquet’ workshops this summer, we’d be so grateful if you could bring along a jam jar or two, if possible, please.
Our stocks of small and medium sized jars are running a bit low - and we’d love to make sure we have enough jars for all attendees.
No worries at all if you don’t have any jars to bring along - but hopefully between us we can make sure there are enough for everyone.
Jam Jars (which don’t need to have contained jam!) need to be clean and empty - no lids required.
It would really help if you can remove the label and any remaining glue residue before bringing them along, so they are ready to be used as vases.
If you won’t be coming an event, but have some jars to donate, there is a clear plastic box inside the porch at Holy Trinity on Kilwardby Street. You’ll find a plastic box under the pew on the left hand side of the front porch, just before you enter the glass doors into the main church building.
Thanks so much.

About The Garden Room
These events are being hosted by local community gardening project The Garden Room - and are part of a series of Saturday morning events in 2026. We run two growing spaces in Ashby where we grow cut flowers to bring joy to people in our local community.
